As I said to Jamie today, I hope you are all fully prepared for the strip search at the airport and have learnt the ability not to flinch at the sound of stretched latex. Also I trust that after nine months away from your girlfriends you don't come back with a soft spot for donkeys!
Really admire you for undertaking such a punishing expedition! Take care.

Well, personally, I think you’re absurd, ape, bananas, barmy, batty, berserk, bonkers, brainless, crackers, cockeyed, crazy, cuckoo, daft, delirious, demented, dense, deranged, dim, dingy, dippy, erratic, flaky, flipped, flipped out, foolish, foothardy, fruity, foolhardy, ga-ga, haywire, imbocilic, idiotic, insane, kooky, la-la, loony, lunatic, ludicrous, mad, maniacal, mental, moonstruck, nuts, nutty, odd, peculiar, potty, psycho, raving loony, senseless, screwball, screwy, silly, strange, touched, unbalanced, unglued, unhinged, unzipped, wacky, whacko. Among other things. Still, I wish you all increadible luck. What an incredible thing to do!
I still say a jumble sale is an easier way to raise money for MS!

If you stay in La Paz, stay at the hotel torino and say hello to Mateo and Phillipe for me.

About that Bolivian chap......

.....scrap that - I'll have two penguins instead.

To spur you guys on, I challenge you to spot a three banded armadillo (Tolypeutes matacus). This is the only species that can roll up into a tight little ball. Remember they are endangered so DO NOT be tempted to play football with it.
Have a great time. I expect to see some outrageously breathtaking photos.

Nice knowing you chaps, it's been emotional.
But seriously, Good luck. Apart from Jay

Brilliant Job........Wish you all the best lads (hope you have read 'The trail to Titicaca' by rupert Attlee). Takes much balls and low levels of brain activity to go south to north.......I myself am doing Quito ,Ecuador to Ushuala, Argentina, leaving on November 6th this year.......although I shall sadly only be preparing dinners for one. Hope to pass you at some point in early 2007....in the mean time good luck

I think you all might have mental problems. Not serious mental problems. But just enough to be a justified cause for concern.
Naturally this will not stop me sponsoring you - or infact providing you with SpokieDokies. (Annoying for a 7,000 mile trip? - Not at all.)
If you could bring me back a penguin, or some kind of hefty Bolivan chap that'd be great.

Well, what can I say.... you're all mad! I can't believe you're actually doing it!
Can you hurry up and go though, i've sponsored you about three times now, i'm not going to have any money left if you stay here much longer!!
Hope it all goes well, i'll be looking here everyday for updates!
Take care of yourselves, but most of all look after my big brother!!
Love to you all, you really are stars,
And to Jamie:
I'll miss you J, come home safe and quickly, Love you loads xx

In the immortal words of my French friend before my final exam at university:
"You don't need luck. You need talent. But for you I'll settle on luck."
Since then I've always been careful about offering good luck to people, but please take it as with the best of intentions that I say "may fortune favour the bold."
