Hello Guys,

Very well done, the best of british to yuo..

i wondered, have you seen any ancient ruins or artifacts (inca, mayan or such things) laying about on your travels?

woods

Blenk's reply : There's been a couple of bits lying about, but there's never anything to tell you what they are so we usually just assume their inca around here! there's some rather weather-worn old ladies about as well who look like they could possibly be pre-Colombian, but im no archaeologist.

We'll be at Macchu Picchu in a couple of weeks though and we're pretty sure that ones Inca.
Hopefully there'll be a decent photo or two from the Trek as well...

In response to one of your blogs asknig where Del Amitri got their name, this is from their official Myspace page

"...originally called Del Amitri Rialzo in order to confuse the public (name was invented for its meaninglessness; all other stories are fabrications)"

there you have it

good to hear you're all still having fun, those wrestling masks are a bit too cool for my liking. well, too cool for you lot anyway.

see ya soon for beers

Blenk's reply : Cheers Jefford, i knew we could rely on you for some good internet research. Ive also been wondering recently if a coconut is really a nut, so if you could get onto that as well i'd appreciate it!

morning peeps
im finally on the radio!
If you have any sage words of advice or anything interesting i can tell people about your travels, then let me know-I'll send them here to give you all their money too xx

Blenk's reply : Hey Gem!
Really glad the masses will finally be able to hear your dulcit tones over the radio. To be honest, we're struggling for pearls of wisdom, but we have learnt some comedy Spanish words....
Zampar - to gobble down
Zarandear - to shake vigorously
Enano/a - a dwarf

You'd be amazed how little these words crop up in conversation though!

A challenge for Peru

A photo of you both wearing wellingtons and eating marmalade sandwiches earns you the entire contents of my piggy bank (which, I'll have you know, if pretty much full...mind you Blenk'll have to count it as I'm far too lazy).

Paddington-tastic!

Loads of love,

Jones x

These beards. Are you going to have some kind of half-face tan? I mean they're pretty mighty. Clearly you're both incredibly phworh-worthy, but I'd hate for people to point. And stare. And point a bit more.....maybe even whisper and then do some more pointing.

Just a thought.......

Blenk's reply : Yes, we are a bit worried about the big white patch under the face hair, but we've come up with a solution: We're simply never going to shave again. Ever. Problem solved. Bosh.

Then we're going to start a ZZ Top tribute band on our return and tour Japan.

Due to following your progress I was able to answer a pub quiz question about what borders Argentina, Phew! Oh and the Peacocks loved the photo, ALL the boys in the class (football obsessed) knew what was missing from the flag.... I will be setting a challenge soon, my last teaching placement is in a class of 7 yr olds so I will have to have a think... Hope you're all cycling hard and enjoying it as much as it sounds like from your emails, the views are amazing!

I have a challenge for you!

I would like a picture of you both giving an "indigenous" woman a kiss on either cheek. Bolivian or Peruvian-I am not fussy (I mean they are all the same really aren't they?)

Suerte,

Power

Rich's reply : Another great challenge.

WeŽll do our best with the toothless beauties.

Blenk I miss your trumpet

We have a couple of gigs coming up. Andy used to come from Leeds to play. You're not going to. You obviously have no commitment. You're out of the band.

Not really

Have tou learnt any new instruments in South America? (apart from the man flute)

Big love to all - I am in Texas next week so I will be just up the road from you - I'll give you a shout when I'm there

xxxxxx

Blenka's reply : Hello Davey, yes there will be a whole new element for the Happy Attack mix when i get back. Rich and I are going to buy a Charango, a little double-strung Andean guitar made with an Armadillo shell, and learn it good while we're on the road. Needless to say though, we wont be learning any Andean folk music or anything like that. Its all gonna be Elton John, Whitesnake and the Righteous Brothers for us. Possibly the Grease Soundtrack as well if we get time...

Have fun in Texas!

Well hello there.

I assume this is the website of Jamie, Blenka and Rich, not that the photograps are giving anything away. I didn't realise the 'Gump Across America' look was back in vogue this year...Might I suggest a donation to the Gillette Corporation at some point in the not too distant future, lest you appear frightening to the residents of Mendoza who, if memory serves me correctly, are not what you might call uneasy on the eye. Good luck lads, only another, ooh, **** knows how much further to go. Suffice to say I am currently choosing not to maintain a website documenting my travels, but if anything wildly exciting should occur on my grand daily safari through Barking, West Ham, Limehouse and London Fenchurch Street, I'll be sure to let you know. My breath however, remains unheld. Keep it real you grubby little oiks...Tom

Blenka's reply : Alrighty Pecca, the Argentine girlies were not scared by the face hair, we prefer to think they were just intimidated by our obvious masculinity. It gets us through the day...

The Bolivian children have been a little scared of the beards though. Lots of pointing at my face and asking of 'what's that?'... if only it didn't happen when im shaven as well i wouldn't mind so much.

Thanks bunches amigos! I am going into school next week and they will love it! MATE fact is very interesting. I start my last placement after Easter so I may be tempted to set more challenges... Keep pedalling!

Rich's reply : No problemo. There is something missing from the center of the Argentine flag, maybe your class could find out what. It wasnt just that we couldnt draw it - honestly

Thanks for the donation
