The camping bits: Vaude Taurus Ultalight tents, MSR Dragonfly stove, 2 MSR fuel bottles, stove maintainence kit, 2 large MSR pots, Katadyn water filter, Mountain Equipment Sleeping bags, Slik sleeping bag liners, Thermarest, Thermarest chair, lock knife, Leatherman, sewing kit, first aid kit, MSR Packtowels, Garmin GPS, compass.

Clothes: This is a rough list of what we are each starting with.
Windproof fleece, waterproof jacket, baseball cap, buff, 3 base layer tops, 1 shirt, 2 pair cycling socks, 1 pair thermal waterproof socks, 1 pair base layer trousers, 1 pair waterproof trousers, 2 pair cycling shorts, 1 pair boxers, 1 pair zip off trousers, cycling shoes, light weight trainers for off the bike, waterproof overshoes, armwarmers, cycling mitts, warm winter gloves, sunnies.

Other bits: Solio solar charger for mp3 players etc, rechargable batteries and charger, mp3 players, wind up radio, digital cameras

So far...

Kit that has been great..

Katadyn Water Filter - put dirty water in, get clean water out. Brilliant.
MSR Dragon Fly Stove - can run on petrol, sounds like a jet engine, and cooks stuff. Lovely.
Arm warmers - on, off, on, off. Very handy.
Thermarest chairs - worth the extra weight.
Cycling tights - we may look stupid but they keep your legs nice and toasty.
Ear plugs - block out the barking dogs, roosters, Jamie´s snooring etc.
Continental Travel Contact tyres - 5500km on these puppies between us and no punctures yet.

Kit that has been rubbish...

Rich´s Nikon CP 8800 camera - died after 3 shots
Blenk´s iPod - died after 3 days
Windproof lighter - the "emergency" lighter lasted about 4 days
Padded cycling shorts - we have ditched most of them in favour of standard boxers and shorts.
Gill "waterproof" gloves - We had very cold, very wet hands for three days on the Austral. We were not happy will the people at Gill.
Blackburn Expedition rack - Designed for "heavy duty touring" and "offroad use". The welding failed in two places after 800km on the Careterra Austral. Go for the heavier and stronger TorTec Expedition instead.
Delta Shot Treatment front rack - Snapped, again on the Austral.
